Social sustainability.

Our choice.

Sensitivity to green issues and dynamics has always played an important role in Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola company policies, right from the Group’s first certification in 1998. This was followed by initiatives marked by ecological awareness that sought to make the company ‘effective and efficient’ in an increasingly global market, without abandoning any of its fundamental social ethics values.

Being world ambassadors for Made in Italy means making decisions that are responsible and not merely production-based.

Company policy.

The integrated Management System.

Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola believes in the value of quality, safety and the environment. It therefore maintains that its objectives must be pursued and implemented by identifying and assessing risks and opportunities in all sectors of the Company, including preventing environmental pollution with strategies and systems that minimise impacts, reducing these impacts and wherever possible improving them, and using all resources in an optimum and effective way that both respects the environment and provides workers with safe and healthy working conditions. Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola has adopted an integrated management system (SGI) that unites the three main ISO standards: the Quality Management System (ISO 9001); the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (ISO 45001); and the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001).

Safety - ISO 45001

Quality - ISO 9001

Environmental - ISO 14001

A company’s social responsibility inevitably includes the sustainability of our environment and the safety of our people.

We have an organisational model that focuses on the health and safety of our workers and a certified company security management system that ensures increasingly efficient levels of internal organisation, traceability and the identification of critical issues, problems and procedures.

Voluntary system.

Risk management.

Safer work pratices.

Legislative compliance.

Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola has obtained the Quality System certification in relation to the UNI EN ISO 9001 Normative for the design, production and marketing of ceramic tiles for all of the production types.

Implementation of this system has the following objectives:

achievement, through adequate management of the technical and system resources, of the ongoing improvement of the production processes;

guarantee the correct use, efficiency, reliability and dependability of the results of the measurements and tests through the planning of the maintenance and the control of the systems, equipment and instrumentation;

contribute to the improvement of the social context of which it is part and in terms of the people and the environment into which it is integrated.

High product / service standard.

Continuous improvement of the quality standards issued.

Greater market visibility and transparency.

Social context improvement.

Certification Iso 9001.

The ISO 14001 standard – Environmental management system – has been updated in relation to the previous version, 2015. The most important innovation regards the Environmental Aspects of the Organisation’s products that must be assessed with reference to their expected life cycle.

This means that the design and production of these products must be consistent with the company’s policy and goals, and focus also on the moment they reach their end-of-life and the impact associated with it.

Complying with these standards has numerous benefits and reflects on the Company’s capacity to reduce waste and inefficiencies, and use resources in an informed way.

Minimising water resource consumption.

Optimising energy consumption.

Optimising material consumption.

Recycling production rejects.

Other important awards.

Emas Certification.

Through the implementation of a precise company policy on sustainable development, Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola has obtained Eco-management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) registration. This is an important recognition on a European level that aim at the
continuous improvement of production standards and awareness of all of its employees in terms of protecting the environment.

The EMAS system is a voluntary awareness for those companies committed to evaluating and improving their environmental efficiency through a more responsible choice of buying and management, a more careful use of air, water, territory, raw materials and energy. EMAS Certification represents for Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola one of its communication instruments for the company’s eco-sustainable commitment in its industrial sites under two main profiles:

Efficiency in preventing environmental degradation thanks to the implementation of a large range of skills concerning environmental problems in the ceramics sector, in its prevention means, waste plant management and controls especially in terms of waste water and atmospheric polluting agents released emissions;
Transparency thanks to its continuous dialogue with consumers, citizens, public administration offices with the consequent aim of directing the market towards the
choice for products and services with low environmental, social and economic impact.

Cooperativa Ceramica d’Imola is a member of the Green Building Council Italia, an Association that works towards spreading the criteria of the LEED trademark.

L.E.E.D (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a System of Environmental Energy Certification for buildings which envisages the attribution of a score, assigned in function of demonstrated conformity with certain pre-established “credits”.

This contribution is assessed in the total materials used in the building: so our ceramic slabs also contribute to obtaining L.E.E.D credits in relation to the features and the production process with which they are made.
